Free games for times tables, addition, spelling, grammar, and phonics

Five browser games, no login, no ads, no accounts to set up. I built them for my own kids, who play-tested every one. Now your kid can too.

Word Spotter

Word Spotter mid-game: the word "curious", with Noun, Verb, and Adjective to choose from. Word Spotter mid-game: the word "noisy", with the same three choices.

Nouns, verbs, adjectives. One word, three choices, twenty rounds to get faster at telling them apart. A friend's son was just getting the hang of parts of speech, and his mom asked for a game to help him practice. This is what she got.

Wordie

Wordie mid-guess: four letter tiles, one filled in, six tries remaining. Wordie after a correct guess: TEAR spelled out, confetti falling.

Spelling practice, in the shape of a Wordle ripoff built easier for younger kids. Six tries a word. Some letters come pre-filled, so there's already a foothold. Tap instead of type, and once you've found a letter, it locks in for every guess after. Confetti on every good tile.

Times tables, arcade style. One problem, nine possible answers in a 3×3 grid, twenty rounds to a game. My son needed the practice. This is what he got.

Letters

Letters mid-game: a bear emoji, the word "_ear", and four letter buttons to choose from. Letters after a correct guess: "bear" spelled out, confetti falling.

My youngest is five and just starting on letter sounds, so the other games were still out of reach. An emoji, its name missing the first letter, four buttons to pick from. Says the animal out loud, cheers when you get it right.

+ Blitz

+ Blitz mid-game: 5 + 4, with nine possible answers in a 3 by 3 grid. + Blitz after a correct answer: the right sum highlighted, confetti falling.

The X Blitz framework again, this time for addition, tuned down for my youngest kid learning to add small numbers: a bigger timer, and wrong guesses don't end the round, so she can keep trying until she finds it.
